Instructor Bio

Justin Hicks is an Information Security Consultant at SBS CyberSecurity (SBS), a company dedicated to helping organizations identify and understand cybersecurity risks to make more informed and proactive decisions.


Justin maintains several certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), CompTIA Project+, and CompTIA Linux+. He received his bachelor’s degree in information technology from Western Governors University.


Justin has over 19 years of information technology and information security experience, including system administrator, information security analyst, and technical account manager roles. As an information security analyst, he was part of the vCISO team that provided consulting services to credit unions on a variety of security topics. Justin also has experience in creating key performance indicators to monitor security systems and generate reports that provide a comprehensive overview of security trends in clients' environments.


Justin is passionate about helping identify security gaps and recommending the right systems and solutions to keep clients protected. He is frequently complimented on his thoroughness and attention to detail.
