In Part 1, participants will focus on preparing and organizing data so it is accurate, consistent, and ready for analysis. Topics include removing duplicate records; cleaning and standardizing text with UPPER, LOWER, PROPER, TRIM, and CLEAN; and understanding how function order affects results when correcting messy data. Attendees will also use Text to Columns to separate address fields and Flash Fill to quickly split or merge text without formulas.

The session continues with practical tools for managing and summarizing larger datasets. Participants will learn to filter data efficiently, update filtered results without starting over, and use the SUBTOTAL function to calculate totals within filtered lists. Additional topics include converting ranges to Tables, applying and removing table formatting, filtering with Slicers, and generating insights using Recommended PivotTables and PivotCharts.
