He demonstrates every technique at least twice—first on a PowerPoint slide with numbered steps and then live in the subscription-based Excel for Microsoft 365. David highlights any differences in Excel 2021, 2019, or 2016 throughout the session and in his detailed handouts. Attendees receive an Excel workbook that includes most of the examples used during the presentation for continued practice after the workshop.

Join us for an engaging, hands-on online workshop designed to help you confidently navigate Excel and build a solid foundation. Excel expert David H. Ringstrom, CPA will guide you through essential spreadsheet skills such as entering and formatting data, managing worksheet layout, and using tools like the Fill Handle and PMT function. You’ll explore the difference between working within a cell and working on a worksheet, uncover shortcuts to speed up formatting, and practice freezing rows and columns for easier scrolling.

  • Getting oriented with Excel’s grid of rows and columns
  • Learning about the different types of files you can create in Excel
  • Understanding the difference between working within a cell versus working on a worksheet
  • Entering, editing, and clearing worksheet text—plus how cell entries behave when content overlaps

Join us for an engaging, hands-on online workshop that builds on foundational Excel skills with practical, timesaving techniques. Excel author and instructor David H. Ringstrom, CPA will guide you through a variety of essential topics, including using AutoSum to total columns with just a click, mastering Excel’s order of operations, and keeping header rows visible as you scroll. You’ll also gain control over printed output by repeating rows on every page and avoiding scaling surprises that waste paper.

In addition to working smarter with your data, you’ll learn how to start clean by choosing from Excel’s extensive library of templates, manage worksheets by cutting, duplicating, and deleting with confidence, and uncover powerful techniques for navigating large workbooks. David also shows how to rein in Excel’s green error prompts, filter data efficiently, and eliminate duplicates from your lists.
